I used to love to get in and watch his shows after some gigs.

Rest easy, Mr Kirshner! :(

Yep, funny though, it doesn't seem that long ago.

Wow! That takes me back to my bedroom in the attic of my parents house!
Six pack of Maximus-Super and a pack of Winstons for less than $2 and a bag of Fritos.

Those were on Friday nights weren't they? Or Saturdays? Around 10:30 or so...
Simulcast on FM radio sometimes...

Lots of great bands! He'd always open up the show too.

Don Kirshner helped a lot of acts bolster their careers with his Rock Concert shows. I particularly remember the one with Mott The Hoople-definitely one of the classic episodes.

Don started the Archies because cartoon characters didn't demand creative control or have him removed as musical director as the Monkees did.

I used to rush home at midnight from my 2nd shift job to catch the rest of Rock Concert.
Thanks, Don.
