I live in Woonsocket, R.I. which is the armpit of New England as far as I'm concerned and the only place where you can go and buy any new music, is Wal-Mart. However, there is a store in town called " Joe's Moldy Oldies" which I have been fequenting since I got out of the Navy in 1984. He has quite the collection of vinyl for sale, along with cassettes, CD's, DVD's, Vintage Comic Books from the 1940's -70's, and all kinds of cool collectables.

Come On !! You are less than 20-30 minutes from Wickenden ST. on the East side of Providence. One shop there has a great selection of just about everything you cannot find in the Best Buys, Wal-Mart's etc...etc...
In South County Wakefield you have Looney Tunes II

My daughter is a classic rock fan with a vinyl collection of 300+ to prove it. She has given up on looking for new pieces for the most part here in the rural midwest where we live and has taken to looking mostly in antique shops and flea markets. When we make trips to the "Big City" we will look into shopping for her but that usually turns out to be a bust. We have one family owned music store locally that will special order vinyl for her but it is a bit on the pricy side. A big part of her collection was mine when I was younger. She has managed to gather quite a bit of it herself with the addition of such artists as Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane and John Lennon. I'm pretty proud of her taste in music I just wish that more of it was available to her like it was to me when I was her age.

It's an interesting version, a bit over the top in the intro for me.
I wasn't even sure I was listening to the Jethro Tull Tune.
Joe's is so different that it really isn't comparable.
Even though Jethro Tull was bluesy, they were much more, in their musical vein similar to Fairport Convention , Ian Anderson and Tull were tremendously influenced by Celtic as well as Folk Rythms. Flute, Violins, Mandolins, Acoustic steel strings as well as Classical guitars.
It really is like North and South.
I prefer Benefit's version than this.

Other Rolie songs like Tull more Greg influenced by Jethro, sounds like Joe influenced by Neal.

I feel sorry for you guys. I have no trouble here getting CDs of all the great new blues talents: Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, and Mylie Cyrus. And CDs of the great classic blues artists like Cher and Village People.

Seriously, I download 99% of my music from Amazon.

J+R.com, the website is great, and if you wind up in NYC with time on your hands the stores(yes plural) are worth the trip downtown.

Cheers,

I Just bid on a 3 album set from the original Woodstock on e-bay otherwise I'm Still buying alot of new artists but no great talents found lately - really nothing like the old days waiting for an album release and playing it for weeks because it was so good.

Lucky for me that my youngest son ( 18 ) is very much into classic rock so I raid his room for some forgoton favorites.
