Came accross these speakers and thought it was a really cool thing to share.

Well I am genuinely interested in them, however....
I don't like the fact that my attenuating a speaker be completely reliant on using one particular speaker.
I also don't like the idea that attenuating the speaker is going to change the sound of the speaker more than that speaker not moving enough air.
Not entirely sure whether that is a factor, because I'm not entirely sure how the magnet/coil is set up.

$190, it could be worth it for a combo, depending on the quality of the speaker. I've been a Celestion devotee since Peavey switched to the Shefield speakers from Black Widows.
Pay what £75/$120US for a decent speaker. £250/£399US for a attenuator. Thats £325 UK equating to $518 US.

So your looking at around $70 for the attenuator circuit. I don't doubt I could build a attenuator for that. But I'm not Emminence and have a 99.9% less overheads.

I really am intruiged by it.

the thing that gets me is that once you find your sweet spot of the speaker you are not likley to change the setting on the speaker again... so y not just buy a standard speaker that has the right tone?!?!?!

Seems like an interesting concept. I'd say it's worth a look. I'm not a huge fan of eminence though, so I doubt you'll see any in my amps.
