I could understand going for that effect. Why would you need to mic' a amp in your bedroom, thats what I can't understand.

All right... It does work, and the sound isnt that bad. Gdec,>>> "old school" Koss head phones,>>>sennheiser mic,>>> logic studio. But I cant figure what his application is??? If he can plug a mic into a board or interface..then he could go direct with his guitar

Can you guys tell Im bored as hell? what else ya got?

Bill

Hmmmm.....are you serious? Placing a dynamic microphone like a Shure SM57 close to the speaker would give you much better result and will not pick up any picking noises. How close are you to the amplifier or microphone when you are recording? If your picking noise is louder than your amp volume, then might as well plug the guitar directly to an interface and use a DAW to record.

I'ts possible that the headphone produce the highs of the guitar and the placement of the mic is to record the mids and bottom end. Hence, this will alow the recorder to blend very high trebble of the head phones with the guitar's sound on 2 sperate track to which he can edit accordingly, which is needed to boost (eq) clearer high tones when recording with common 44.1/16bit computer recording. Maybe I'm wrong but it just might work.
