This came up super last minute, but tomorrow night (Sunday, January 16th) my band (Cari Quoyeser) is going to play a show which will be broadcast on the radio! They're going to tape us live and then play several songs as part of their "Texas Buzz" show which features local up and coming bands. If you live in Houston then switch on 94.5 FM at 11:00 p.m. to hear it. If not then you can hear it streaming live online, you just have to figure out what 11:00 p.m. Central is for you.

Tex is there any chance that it could be recorded?

I did a couple of shows. One was a must for any band about to get serious with a DJ who did sessions for the best (and I mean the best). The late Mr John Peel, played my old band 3 times and interviewed the singer. Lovely fellow he was. The other was local radio, hosted by a comedian. So although we only had 4 people and a cat listening (much smaller here than Texas, rest assured) we had a good laugh. I loved both, it's really really cool being on air.
In all instances they gave us a recording of the show. Now you need to take that recording and give it to whoever manages your band. Get em to use it for public relations or even as a demo disk.
A quality live recording of your band will speak way more about you as a performing group than a studio recorded album will. Both have their uses, live recording to get gig's. Studio albums to show how marketable your records are. Two very different worlds as you're no doubt finding out.

Use it to your best advantage mate. And a upload wouldn't go amiss either.

They're definitely going to record it, since the songs won't air live. We play for an hour before the actual radio show starts. I'm definitely going to try to get a recording, and I'm going to try to figure out how to record the radio show as well. The manager is the singer's Dad so he will no doubt be on top of things at the show. I don't really know what he uses as a press kit. Most likely youtube videos from what I've heard, so this will be nice to have.
