I think they mucked it up when they shifted from Scorpion to Sheffield speakers, in was it 1990?. I didn't like the sound of them. That's when I started to hear people complain about them too. Though that could have been because of a market shift. Both Fender and Marshall started selling quality cheap combos at that time. Marshall were doing the Valvestate valve preamp combo's at the time. For less money than the humble Bandit. Infact that is what I sold my Bandit to buy, thinking about it.

When considering reissues, you have to look at the differences between 'Good Product' and 'Classic Product'. See the Fender Champ can survive as a reissue, albeit a expensive one. It will sell. The same thing could be said of the Plexi. I think the JCM800 is a passing fad to a certain extent. The continual reissues of that amp will stop eventually.
Does the Bandit really fit that bill? If so you can bet Peavey will reissue it, their in the business to sell product and make money. More than they are in it to push boundaries or develop technology.

looking at it like you put it i agree. is there a market for a peavey reissue?
hum..... probably not so much. to many micro amp companies on the rise getting folks attention. mini stacks are in and it seems everybody but fender is on board.
man, imagine a mini twinish type stack or a micro deluxe reverb.

as for the speaker change, i think it depended on which model honestly.
i had a couple 4x12's with sheffields that i really liked. im not sure who made the
blackwidow speakers or if they were a short lived stand alone company, but some amps sounded good with them while others sucked.

im not sure how i feel about that valvestate stuff. dont really understand how it works.
remember, i took some serious time off from playing before i got back into it a yr ago.
a lot of the stuff came and went while i was away so i didnt experience any of it niki.

You're all killing me. I get the jokes, but com'on ... a little bit of credit for trying to put a decent video together? I know I'm not the greatest guitar player, but i will tell you all ... I constantly strive to create better content. I also invest a huge amt to cover gear, so folks can see & hear. That video is a year & 1/2 old. Let me fill you in on what I've been doing since then. (A) upgraded my video gear, so all video that gets cut in my studio is in HD. (B) Everything now gets mic'd up w/ 3 mic's - a Sennheiser e609, an AT2020 & a Shure SM57. All of the audio is cut, evenly mixed, then matched to the HD shoot. Also, let me remind everyone - I don't get paid by these folks, nor do I work for companies like Guitar World that have a staff of trained professionals to make all the demos better. Trust me - Paul isn't shooting, editing, mixing the audio, etc. He's a hired gun who's a great player. I'm doing everything myself, and passion is what keeps this fun for me. When I read comments like this, it's disheartening to say the least. With that said, there are enough people who do tune into my videos, leave comments, join the webcasts, that get & appreciate what I do, and what I'm about. Hopefully a bit of that passion comes out in this post. BTW - I went to NAMM this year, and had my videos up before anyone else! No one paid me to be there! I took $$ out of my pocket, went to NAMM to cover it for those who (again) tune in & appreciate what I have going on.

Anyway - I know someone out there will rant all over this. Hopefully someone will appreciate it! Either way, it's all I got.

Thanks, and Rock ON!

If you're the real Bro, then, thanks for the wish come true. true story, was watching this video at Michael Kelly's website in 09, recovering from a stroke, third one in as many years, a little frustrated because my face was affected, I couldn't move my face, zombie for real. This video made me smile, I love you Bro, I've been smiling ever since, always wanted to thank you, and so, thankyou.

This is an old thread that started badly, but turned out good for the most part lol. Different because most threads that start badly only get worse  . All of the credit goes to the Forum members that changed the threads tone (pun?). 8)

i do have the rebel. i know for sure that the rebel can sound a ton better than hes making it sound. my next combo will be the Haze 40.
he has all the egnators knobs at 12 O'clock on the EQ most of the video.
tweak that damn amp geez. hes killing the image of the rebel20 and most likely the Haze.
what a joke of a shoot-out.

It wasn't too long after, that way cool jr. abruptly dropped off the face of this forum. He certainly was an active member at the time. I guess it's better to burn out than to fade away.

strange thing is all the post are reading 1 word per line,
as in one word under the next. any idea why that might be?
takes up a whole page for one text lol.
