i'm noticing a lot of forum members have new avatars... more personal. i want to change mine, but here's what i get when i go to the "edit avatar" page in the user control panel.
any ideas?

Click on the little gear next to community at the top of the page and go to edit profile. You can change your avatar there.

... still no avatar displayed on the screen there either.
there's the "upload photo" thing, so i uploaded one, but the image didn't appear.

well, both of my fenders have the maple neck, so maybe i'll just leave it alone.

I'm in a similar situation. I've got an avatar but I want to revise it. I can upload it but when I do a SAVE the old avatar reappears. So ... it seems that there are few issues that need to be resolved.

Sorry for chiming in here, guys. Just that I noticed several people mentioning this issue and equally often Brad has replied with the same answer: There are apparently still a few unresolved issues with the new forum software, which he will attend to as soon as he has the time. I can imagine with NAMM going on at this very moment and the whole Fender team having a truckload of work out there in Anaheim, that we can wait for the avatar-feature a little while longer, eh, folks? 8)

Its called Electron Blue. It has "sparkly bits" in the paint and changes color depending on the lighting. Kinda like this:
