Some are, some aren't.

Buddy Guy, Ritchie Blackmore, John Mayer, Robert Cray and Jimmy Vaughn guitars are either built in Mexico or have a Mexican built model alongside a American built counterpart.

Being as though WK doesn't sell so much anymore, I'd expect it to be American made run only. It's not really targeted for kids as much as it is fans. That you'd expect to be older and more financialy stable.

With an MSRP of $1299, itll probably street around $1k, and that is a concerning price :(

from what I can see, if the serial number starts with 013, it is mim

Pretty sure the Mayer strat has never been mim

I think these are the artists strats currently mim:
Robert Cray
Jimmie Vaughan Tex Mex
Kenny Wayne Shepherd
Ritchie Blackmore
Buddy Guy Standard

Nik nails it!

As you probably know, Ensenada isn't *that* far from the USA.

Fender would never discredit, insult, vilify or commit such a blasphemy as to make a MIM JOHN MAYER MODEL!!! Ahh how disheartening to think of such a thing!

There was a lot of chatter in the web in regards of Mayer MIM Black1 but nothing materialized. I personally don't care about that dude but his sig strat is something else. I tried one and it is my fav spin on the 60s strat, without going into the CS territory.

Ah right, that must have been what confused me, thanks Dan!
I see the name and pass over, not for me based on past listens. Then again I can say the same for 99.9% of the industry. Before I get accused of being a hater or even a hatter. I hate without discrimination. I'm a equal opportunities hater.
