Try changing the height or just not using the neck position.

Do you have any idea of what tone pots it has? That could be the culprit as well. You may switch pickups an find yourself with the same issue.

no but im willing to bet they are good ones. the original builder spared no expense on building this guitar so i doubt he would start slacking on the pots. just my guess.

If you attach one of those ferrous metal plates which are in vogue now to the bottom of your bridge pickup, it will change the magnetic field thus boosting the pickup's mids, lows and output. Aside from this, there is no other practical alternative short of changing the pickup.

The base plate is a great idea! Just use a dab of silicone adhesive to attach to pickup, then solder the attached wire to the negative side of pickup. Also, why not move the tone control to the bridge pickup, it's as simple as moving the wire over to the next terminal on the pickup selector switch. The harsh highs from the bridge pickup is why I like the tone control on it instead of the middle pickup.

tone is on the bridge already. i just dont like having to use it every time im in the bridge position.
ive not been inside this jewel yet but i do notice some noise when the strings are at rest
so im guessing i need to find a better way to shield the guitar as well.
any ideas?

Silly question, is the bridge pickup hooked up (soldered properly) to the tone pot? If comfortable with soldering, you can also try to experiment with a capacitor value/type too.
Martian recommended this guy Darren (http://www.darrenriley.com/parts.html) to me, nice guy has a lot of good stuff in stock.

Sometimes nothing helps, and I have the AlNiCo III bridge pickup which sounded thin no matter what I did to it. It is sitting in the spare parts box these days.

Greetings and all that good stuff!

Here's how I install them:

I mate the plate to the bottom of the pickup and secure it there temporarily by tightening the pickup height adjustment screws through the pickup and immediately through the plate for a snug, flush as possible fit. I solder a buss wire from the negative wire eyelet of the pickup to the plate, thus grounding the plate. I leave no slack on the buss wire. I then proceed to (re)pot the pickup. Once the potting is done and the pickup begins to cool down, I then clean any excess wax off the pickup and the bottom of the plate. I then allow the pickup to fully cool. Once cooled, I remove the height adjustment screws and reinstall the pickup to the pickguard; wire it up as applicable and of course, once the guitar is all back together, adjust the pickup.

That's it.

im only guessing when i say that i think its hooked up ok. ive yet to look under the hood on this guitar. im gonna be switching pups as soon as money allows me to.
couple months maybe. i just need to get this thin crap fixed now lol.
im probably gonna go with fralin blues specials unless i find something better between now and then. if the plate actually give a bass and mid boost then that might be an answer.

Potting a pickup is wax saturating it so that the coil and in this case, the plate have no air pockets and are solidified. Air pockets, loose coils and/or any attached components to a pickup are what makes a pickup feed back.
