Funny thing is about a month ago I hear the song on the radio and thought to myself "surprised they still play this on the radio"
I do not agree at all with censoring it.
Here in Canada the CRTC governs the radio and if enough people complain I guess the look into it.

I can't stand the CRTC. They control way way too much around here.
Any Canadian annoyed with the lack of cell phone competition, or cable tv competition can thank the CRTC.

When Sirius radio wanted to start up in Canada, the CRTC made them have a minimum amount of French and Canadian content radio and run full stations to comply with their regulations at a cost to Sirius.

ok now I am just starting to rant about the CRTC, and if I start I may not be able to stop

Top selling LP chart in Canada for January 2011.

1. Brothers in Arms, Dire Strats (with a bullet)
2. Stompin' Tom
3. Gordon Lightfoot
4. Shania Twain
5. Rush
6. Neil Young

Even Howard Stern was banned when he was on the radio for using the term retard.

Those retards in Ottawa gotta do somethin' to earn their keep. If this is the worst they do then its not too bad. You see, in our kinder / gentler society we can't be too hard on anyone, even the politicians and civil servants.

I assume the lyric is deemed 'disrespectful' to homosexuals. To be honest I got fed up hearing that song years ago anyway, a prime example of music that hasn't stood the test of time.

I'm no prude but I'm surprised the lyric in 'Chain Reaction' got past the censors.

'You make me tremble when your hand moves lower.
you taste a little then you swallow slower'

Remember that song was written by a man. Couldn't really be more obvious.

thats plain ridiculous. i've heard more offensive things on air than that.

everyone is playing the P.C. card these days, and they get so caught up in it that it starts to misconstrew. and here's why it greatly infuriates me. all of a sudden there's this huge movement to make the queer culture feel more welcomed amongst the rest of us, and God forbid anyone should say a word that upsets them. Has anyone thought that maybe it offends some of US when almost every TV sitcom today makes it a standard to write in a queer character? There are several such sitcom's on air right now, and honestly its as if the writers are now going down a checklist and saying "okay we still need a queer person, how can we fit that into the cast?"
i dont hate queer's, but please dont force me to embrace their culture.

dont get me started on P.C., i could go off for awhile. i know the season is over, but i get pissed off at the whole "happy holidays" thing. seriously, what is wrong with celebrating Christmas? same goes for kwanzaa and hanukah, i dont care what you celebrate, why should it offend me? or anyone?

so in closing, no one likes having other people's cultures shoved down their throats (i.e. Christianity), but yet i have to be forced to accept queer culture...sounds pretty one-sided. The P.C. people obviously look out for themselves only, or at least it seems...

If we haven't heard from Elton John on this one in 26 years I don't know what all the fuss is. I can't help but believe that he was the inspiration for it. We need not to forget that Sting has a piece of this song.
As far as being jaded, I personally feel that nothing of theirs, or his, will ever be.

In any event, it could have, as well been an example of the use of general expression,it is, a kind of 'working class' colloquial speech in which these blue collar, truck driving, macho delivery guys who break their physical backs for a living are contrasting themselves with an individual whom they see as less their equal, but far exceeding them in personal success. The use of that word, as such, is not going so quickly.

As far as being jaded, I personally feel that nothing of theirs, or his, will ever be.

Wouldn't be able to listen for the hour, but I am thankful there are some stations protesting the decision

They should play only songs that have what some might consider offensive lyrics. They'll have to make a whole list of songs. That'll keep 'em busy.
