Years ago when I was in the U.S.Navy aboard the U.S.S Canberra in 1967 I had the honor of going to Melbourne Australia and party with a great bunch of people there for the Coral Sea Festival. I went to Brisbane and played on the Tonight Show (Ships Rock band called The Kangsmen) and a party for the Young Liberals Club.
My point is that it really saddens my heart to know that is all under water now and all those great people that I met and even the ones I did not have the privilege to meet are now suffering with the flood and the lost that comes with that.
My heart goes out to all and I wish you GOD SPEED for a quick recovery.

Oh Oz. Went to Perth, Brisbane and Sydney on the USS Kitty Hawk back in 04-05. Aussie women sure do love American men...very hard ports not to be single in...

Justin Sandercoe (Internet guitar teacher extraordinaire) has posted some video on Twitter. It's devastating. My thoughts and prayers go out to those people.

Prayers go out to everyone there. I saw it on the news last night and the flooding was amazing. I can`t imagine the water being that high in the streets and people in canoes instead of cars.

I hope you're still OK Riley - it still seems to be mighty wet your way.

We're mostly in cleanup mode around here (Brisbane). The government is asking people to keep off the roads unless they're part of the cleanup as the traffic is really bad with road closures and rubber neckers.

are you voulunteering?(mind the spelling) cause if i lived there i would help.
our river only got up to 3 meters, which is good. last september it got up to 4.5 meters, that was really close to us.

Glad to hear you're OK then :D

The volunteer numbers are the best news about this up here - they got so many today that they don't want us there until tomorrow. They were expecting about 6,000 people to show up, instead they got nearly 12,000. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow since the place where I work is still closed down which means I have the day off (again). It's great to see so much support in the community
