I'm pretty much playing my dream rig now.

I wish I had:
'59 Fender Strat
'64 Vibroverb
Original Ibanez TS-808

I have:
'92 SRV Strat
'64 Vibroverb Custom
Ibanez TS-808 RI

My dream rig? There are many dreams rigs in my mind, but I'll narrow it down to one.

I'd say a custom shop strat in Lake Placid Blue, Green Mint pickguard, Flame neck, bound Pau Ferro fretboard with oversized abalone dot inlays, and body color headstock, gold hardware. Played straight into a Laney VC30-112 with a 1x12 extension cab.

very odd amp choice. what is it about these that you like?
not knocking, just suprised this was your pick.

Just the overall tone really. I've always loved the sound of Laney amps, and the VC series, although more of a mid-range product, has the best sound to my ears. They are very responsive, and have great overdrive and onboard reverb, allowing for an uncluttered stage setup. And 30 watts is pretty much my magic number, I like to really push the amp, and I don't like drowning out the rest of the stage... . Other than Laney, I find myself really liking the tone of Rivera amps as well. Especially the Venus series.

i like laney. ive never owned one though. ive just ran across a amp tonight thats got a yamaha name plate but was designed by soldano. i want to check it out. im told its an amazing amp. they were late 80s amps. mikey designed them but yamaha went behind his back and changed a couple key things that didnt make ole mikey so happy.
im told by folks on the inside that if you send one of these amps to mikey he will put it back to its original design for you for a small fee. he was proud of these amps and really liked the design he was paid handsomely to do, though not a compitition for the amp labled with his name sake. if i can get into this amp on the cheap i'll do it.

Any amp Mike Soldano had a hand in designing is certainly worth a look. Which is what has me looking so close at Jet City. Although I think I'm gonna spend the extra cash and just go for the VC30 at some point in this year.

Guitar: Telecaster w/: strat middle pickup and chrome-covered humbucker at neck position; white binding; cherry burst (as appears on the Am. Deluxe model); pearloid white pickguard; bigsby tremolo; chrome hardware; skunk stripe; LSR Nut; pearloid dots. 2 of them, actually. I'm not entirely sure about whether to go with rosewood or maple, I still don't know which I prefer.

Pedals: Ernie Ball VP; Ibanez HW TS-808; BBE Wah; EH Soul Preacher; Line 6 Echo Park; probably others, but I haven't really tried them, and at this point am unsure of what I want...

Amp: '65 Twin Reverb. Sounds spectacular.

I think I would love this rig. Especially the guitar- I think I'll always be a tele person, but that's the way I think I'd like it.

I have the guitars with my Tels and Strats...I would just need two more amps...a Fender Deluxe and a Fender 59 Bassman.

I'm all set for now, although I wouldn't mind getting another Carr Rambler with a custom cover. I'm set on guitars with my Tele, Starfire IV and M75 Bluesbird...but if I had to add another guitar it would be a 50's model M75 Aristocrat with Franz P90's or the 83 Fullerton 57 AVRI I sold for my buddy. For amps I'd like to get the 66 Super Reverb back and that'd be it. I am pretty simple.

I have two friends with Blackface Super Reverbs. Those amps sound like no other. A little scooped in the mids, lots of top end bite, tight lows. A great appliance.

Ooh, the Starfire IV! What an interesting choice of guitar. I've read that not only Buddy Guy, but Tom Fogerty (CCR) and Dave Davies (The Kinks) played the Starfire at one point.

definitely tough to beat a Blackface Super Reverb.

i know it is blasphemy but I actually prefer Buddy's playing when he was still using the Starfire IV. It is just so raw and on point. The vintage Guilds have these Hb-1 humbuckers in them and they are super pickups.

Yeah not too many Starfire players out there, but I think if more people had a chance to play a vintage Starfire, there would be alot more people playing them. Here's mine, a nice Mahogany body, I love this guitar:
