In the old days, during a NAMM, Harmony-Central.com would always list the latest Fender gear during the first day or so of the NAMM. It was a "good thing" (tm).

However, since being bought out by Zzounds (?), their reporting really sucks. Nothing about Fender. Nothing about Ibanez (my other fav. company). You usually have to wait for a week or so until the Fender news comes out.

Are they asking for some kind of fee from Fender before they report their news?

Besides the Fender Flash ad on this site, is there any other website that summarizes the latest Fender gear?

Thanks brothers and rock on.

When Harmony Central started, they attracted some respected editors from music mags to the site. They took the site's image as a news source seriously, and knew how to gather and deliver it.

I think those guys are all long gone, so now... not so much.

Firstly, I confess that I edited the title of your post as we felt it unnecessarily abrasive. Secondly, the Products section on this site was update Thursday morning with all of our new product offerings -- hop by each section and click on the "New for 2008" links at left.[/url]

No problem Brad. It probably was a harsh title.

I just remembered that in the "old days" harmony-central would be the first to list the new Fender products -- even faster than the Fender web site. Sometimes they would list Fender products even before the show started! They did that with a couple of things this year, like Peavey stuff was listed before the NAMM show started.

Now, nothing about Fender. Even during the show. And I just checked and there STILL IS NOTHING ABOUT FENDER'S NEW PRODUCTS.

What kind of "musicians's resource" has harmony-central become?

Anyway, thanks for the link to new products on the Fender site. I did see that. But I'm always looking for the scoop ahead of time.

The past two years now, we have "blogged" our new products throughout the duration of the NAMM show in one form or another, as well as updating our site(s) with all of the new products via the products listings pages.

Rest assured, you will always be able to get your Fender product news from Fender.com when the releases are first announced. Who knows, maybe you'll see us tease a little in the days before a trade show ... time will only tell
