It sure looks like a cool event- gee I wish something like that would happen down here :)

My favourite (and my next purchase!) is going to be the Squire Rockband controller- sure looks like a lot of fun and a great way to practice those chops!! two birds with one stone  A winner right there! Sure glad the competition cant even touch a market like that with a LP :)

Always cool to see what's going on at these shows, would love to get a chance to go to NAMM or SEMA. Maybe Brad could find a spot for a special "intern" next year?

I just read this thread cover to cover. What amazes me is that Brad is doing all the very hard work and long hours that these events always involve - and still finding time to take photos, upload them and post them here with commentary! Wow, thanks so much for your energy Brad!

Make sure to have some FUN yourself too! 8)

Cheers to you and the whole team - C

Another mindblowing day of NAMM activity yesterday. We had visits from Phil Collen of Def Leppard, Wayne Kramer (of MC5), and Ed Roland of Collective Soul. Probably the best moment for me personally was hearing Ed talk about the origin of the name "Collective Soul" -- it's apparently a reference to an excerpt from Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead in which mankind is described as a collection of souls. Pretty deep stuff! ;-)

Here are a few glimpses of the activities yesterday. Definitely have to get things started with another photo of lovely "Gretsch Girl" Kim Falcon, just because:

Here's Fender Events Director John Dreyer demoing the new Squier® by Fender Stratocaster® Guitar and Controller -- it's getting rave reviews and lots of industry buzz:

Fender signature artist Marcus Miller performs in the SWR booth:

Fender's Allen Abbassi (electric guitars product specialist) demos the new Road Worn Player Series Stratocaster® guitar.

Fender's Justin Norvell (Director of Marketing for electric guitars) with Wayne Kramer of MC5, introducing the new Wayne Kramer Signature Stratocaster® guitar:

Phil Collen of Def Leppard stopped by to introduce the new Jackson Phil Collen "PC Supreme" guitars:

After Phil's demo, Lita Ford of Runaways (and solo career) fame walked up and introduced herself:

From there Phil stepped out to our front greeting area to sign autographs. This enthusiastic fan was second in line:

Walked back in and spotted Gary Hoey:

Meanwhile, product demos continued throughout the day. Here's Phoenix area blues legend Chuck Hall demoing the new Fender Mustang amplifiers:

Marcus Miller decided to sit down, but the jamming continued. Over at right in this pic is Fender's Tony Franklin (SWR artist relations) -- Tony himself is a virtual legend amongst bass circles having had stints with The Firm, Whitesnake, and numerous other big-name acts:

Custom Shop booth has been hopping since show opening and continues to do so:

Sunday is my "fun day" -- at that point in time the show starts really winding down and all of our VIP artist handling is pretty much done. That's the point in time that I finally get to walk around and spend some time looking at gear both in our own booth and (gasp!!) the booths of other manufacturers as well.
