Hey Riley - yep we're OK at the moment. We have a creek running across the street down the hill from us but we're high enough that the river won't back up far enough into it even at the peak (another 16 hours or so from now). I can't get to work because the building I work in is flooded and the roads between here and there are cut. My son is an apprentice chef in a restaurant on the river in the CBD and it's closed as well.

Except for not being able to go anywhere my family and I aren't really affected. We've been watching the news and it's tragic. There are 10 confirmed dead so far with about 90 more missing. We're looking at around 40,000 homes with flooding by tomorrow and many of those will have serious flooding so the people living there will be evacuated (if they haven't already).

Thanks for thinking of us mate, there's a fair bit more info here - I'm hoping that things don't turn out as bad as predicted.
