i see your point on the nascar comment.
i dont think he was being mean as i know 2 pawn stores exactly like
he talked about. it was so close hes gotta be talking about either or lol.
heck one of my fav pickers is ole brad pasley. im sure hes a nascar fan.
i know on forums its hard to tell if people are throwing punchs or just
poking folks in the ribs. i m sure he didnt mean anything mean by what
he said, or at least i hope he didnt.
go formula1 racing!

But that is exactly why you cannot say things like that because someone will take it out of context, not everyone gets a joke ( if indeed it was in jest, but the mention of the Glock  ) How could you even think that is funny :?:

Granted when I was younger I most definitely inserted both feet in my mouth more times than I can recall, but sensitive issues in today's environment are not cool.
With all of us being Internet savvy and well aware of current issues I'm puzzled.

Keep your eyes peeled for late 1970's Fender Musicmasters. They have the Mustang body, but have a fixed bridge and usually only 1 pickup. Many back in the day were modded to be like a Duo Sonic, with 2 pickups and a 3 way switch! I got mine last year, a 1978 Musicmaster, for $350 at my local pawn shop.......Fender Broncos are very similar to the Musicmaster, but have a weird tremolo system.

I bought a Desert Sand 1959 Duo-Sonic at a pawn shop in Warrensburg, Mo. for $300 in 1994 with its original hardshell case and bridge ashtray. It was easily an 9 out of 10. I sold it in 2000 for, um, a lot more and bought an SG. SG is gone now, wish I had kept the Duo. Same guitar would probably be several thousand now...

I visit the local pawn shop every so often to look for any MIJ fenders that may have made it through the cracks. No luck so far though....

Pawnshops know what they're doing, any guitar of real value will be put up on ebay. The best you'll probably get at a pawn shop is a MIM.

It is hard to walk into a pawn shop and not find Fender guitars for sale. Strats always and occasional Tele's. Most shops no the good ones too, and sell for the price.

of course you cant just go out on any given saturday and find a deal. if you pound the pavement enough you will find them. the deals are out there, ya just gotta keep a routine and follow it.

MIM Strats are easy to find.

ive found strats, pauls, jackson soloists, MIA charvels, SG's, martins, you name it.
you gotta know how to deal with pawn shops. you gotta stand your ground and not sound wavering. make your offer (within reason) and if its a no then leave with a smile.
return a few weeks later and make the offer again. leave again if its a no.
get to know these guys by name. find some junk at a yardsale and go pawn it.
pawn it super cheap and buy it out early. do business with the shops you know get things in. they are in the business to sell. they dont want guitars hanging around collecting dust. in and out. there is a working deal to be had guys. you just have to
start a relationship with the better shops. you realize how many flakes they get a day trying to talking them into or out of things? you gotta stand out from those types.
if they have a source to get rid of the better guitars they will use it trust me.

a vintage music store is a specialty shop.
hard to find a deal there, but the OP might at least find what hes looking for
but at a higher price.
