I always keep an eye out in a kind of vain hope, if I'm ever near any pawn shops or anything, but the only things I've seen are usually Squier strats and random strat copies. But I guess it must happen once in a blue moon? Who knows :)

I played the new balcktop one at my local store last week, it was just fine, good tone and far better finish then the squires. (It's a MIM)

That Jazzmaster is a good deal, has anyone tried the Squier Jagmaster, i might try that out next seeing as how Squiers are easily moded, ill probably throw some SD Hot Rail or Blues Humbuckers on it

I have the 2008 jagmaster. It is a great guitar. Feels good, plays good, pups are a little weak, but I have not played around too much with height on it.

Hold off and save your money and get a new RI if your looking for that vintage sound. But you might find something on Ebay or Criagslist. In todays economy people are desperate and sell some of their things cheaper than dealing with a store or a pawn shop.

Im looking for a cheap pawn shop fender guitar thats vintage but not widely used, example would be the Jaguar pre 90s alternative rock break out, it was forgotten, stuffed into pawn shops, and sold for $500 tops. What are some common vintage Fenders i would be looking at today? My local pawn shop is redneck owned and operated by fat $@! stereotypical NASCAR fans who get hard ons from Glocks so any ideas??????????

  This would be akin to visiting the Porsche Dealership and asking about the 917 or more to the point the one featured in the film Lemans with Steve Mcqueen.
Pawn shops are the worst choice for finding undiscovered gems.
It is a line of retail where the associates know exactly what they have and it's real time value, puttin one up on them just will not happen.
You'll have better luck visiting tag sales and yard sales.

As far as your reference to Rednecks, NASCAR and Glocks, concerning recent events, it is in very poor judgement.
I don't myself appreciate NASCAR, as I prefer Formula I but I do know quite a few people who are fine players, fine persons and do like NASCAR.

It would benefit all of us if in your posts you would keep the derogatory comments to yourself, it only reflects badly on the entire forum members. Thanks

poking folks in the ribs. i m sure he didnt mean anything mean by what
he said, or at least i hope he didnt.

I think it would be more like visiting a used car lot hoping to find a '53 Vette.

53magnatone, Porsche, one of my favorite sports cars.

If you are a musician and you need a guitar for a gig and you aren't at the pawn shop to get your own axe back from the pawn, you can probably find a guitar that will get you through the gig and maybe even get lucky finding an unexpected bargain.

But that is exactly why you cannot say things like that because someone will take it out of context, not everyone gets a joke ( if indeed it was in jest, but the mention of the Glock  ) How could you even think that is funny :?:

Granted when I was younger I most definitely inserted both feet in my mouth more times than I can recall, but sensitive issues in today's environment are not cool.
With all of us being Internet savvy and well aware of current issues I'm puzzled.

Speaking of that experience, I once pawned an Aria 1000 bass, that to this day was a mistake since I never had the funds to reclaim it. :(
