I graciously recived this when my Grandfather passed away. He used to be in a band and played on sunday mornings at church. This 1940's Fender triple neck custom 8 steel giutar has a serial number 0958. Its in good condition and I'm just trying to figure out it's value. If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
- Garrett

Cool. I have no idea of the value, but that is one cool setup you have there.

Tha steel appears to be a StringmasteSteel that was made from '53-'81,the value would be from $2,600-$2,900. If the amp is of the 50s vintage it would be worth about $2,000-$2,500 where the covering isn't original.

Hi Nevin,I was going by the pic in the VG Guide and the pix are identical to the pic in the guide of the Stringmaster Steel. As there was no listing for a Custom 8 Steel guitar I was wondering if OP made some king of error in the name as the Stringmaster Steel is the only one listed as having a 3 neck option. It's quite possible the guide isn't complete but they generally do list every model made even if there are no pix.So that's why I said that it "appears to be"a Stringmaster 8.

Hi, that's definately aStringmaster. Guessing, with that serial number, it's going to be around '53-'55. I have a triple custom and the double neck version, dual proffessional. Customs' had three legs, shorter scale, trapezoid pickups. It looks like yours had the stringmaster's early chrome pickups which ties in with the age I said.
Hope this helps and th valuations the other guys have said are about right.
Phil
