Every evening, I get this sort of message on this forum with a different error explanation every time! Does anybody else get this?

I was wondering whether this is because too many of us are connected at the same time (e.g. when us Europeans want to chill out on this forum after a hard day's work and our guitar-playing friends from across the Atlantic are also connected when they should really be working!!!  )

Yeah, I've had it a few times too, and I seem to remember others mentioning it.

I wait a few minutes and then it seems to come right. I don't have a clue what it's about but someone said they emailed Brad about it, so he knows.

'Course, that gentleman is up to his eyes getting ready for the NAMM next week, so let's bear with him on it...

Cheers - C

EDIT: just seen Nevin's post. Doesn't Brad put up a "site maintenance" page when that's going on? The one with the yellow hard hat picture? I stand to be corrected...

Yep, me too. And then a couple of clicks later I got a "site maintenance" page. So Nevin is right. That's what it is.

Cheers - C

I got that the other day and was trying for about 1/2 hour before I was able to get into the forum.

Only 22 years to retirement for me now they've raised my retirement age to 65... :(

Yes. Yes. Yes.
Mac. Mac. Mac.

So now their new claim to fame is that you can even log into the Fender Forum during site maintenance? Well, now that's finally something worth bragging about.

Yes, Yes, Yes
Mac, Mac ------- actually I'm on an iPad. Freaking awesome. I can catch the forum anytime, anywhere in the house (poor man's WiFi only). also use the Guitar Toolkit app on it for great tuner, metronome and chord review. What a tool.
Love my toys :D

I had a PowerMac for four years (97 to 01). This sums up my experience of it:

Machine
Always
Crashes.
If
Not,
The
Operating
System
Hangs.

This newest incarnation of Fender.com is housed on a new-from-the-ground-up server infrastructure. It's very impressive, beastly hardware top to bottom but we're still fine-tuning it and there have been a few glitches as a result.

The "cannot write folder 'cache'" message is due to a deeply annoying glitch with our source code repository system that keeps rearing its head here and there -- any time you see that one that definitely means there's trouble in the OK Corral so feel free to send me a note about it. Whenever it disappears that's simply because either I've noticed the issue myself or one of our visitors (either here in the forums or elsewhere) has spotted it and reported.

As Ceri noted, I'm on my way to Anaheim this week for NAMM and the honest truth is that I haven't really had a chance to really come up for air since the new site launched -- I know there are still a few minor glitches here and there that folks are encountering and will return my attentions to them ASAP!

theyve gotten a lot better, but i still hate them because, well, im 14, i like video games. macs cant play video games.

edit: they can, but that requires a different OS (basically anything games CAN run on), which tend to cost a good chunk of $ which, being 14, i dont have.
