Agreed. It is nearly impossible actually. In what areas are you comparing? Performance? Riffs? Speed?

This topic seems quite undisputed. Stevie Ray is definitely better.

i woted srv not beacouse i thin he is better than angus young but becouse i like him and his music better

it is nearly impossible to say wich one is the better guitarist cuz they are so different

on the one side you have the riffmeister, angus comes with solid and coll riffs that only he can do he is simplicity himself

and on the other side you have srv wich is also a great guitarist capable to play huge blues solos with great speed

i dont think angus could ever managed to copy srv's playing
but i dont think srv could to the same with angus playing

they are just completyly different!

How about the guitarest who expresses his or her creativity through the playing their guitar in such manner that it moves you to feel in a whole no way? Isn't the playing of guitar a way of communicatiing when words fail to express a thought and/or feeling?
So it comes down to who is the best communicater.

Both are (were in SRV's case) very good in their styles. Overall I believe Angus has a larger "lick" vocabulary than Stevie had. But, I don't think either one would be very good at covering the other's music.

Who in the world thinks this is even close is amazing to me. SRV is one of the best ever. AY is mediocre.

What are you kidding??? Angus is a great 1 trick pony, but Stevie could play anything!! I mean is he gonna play jazz like barney kessel, no but he makes it work. Comparing them is hard, but SRV could cover angus way before angus could cover SRV!!
