BlackCatBone asked for some spanish blues and rock bands. This is for you, and for everybody who wants to discover new music:

Songwriter: Joaquín Sabina (great lyrics and two good musicians – Pancho Varona and Antonio García de Diego– next to him). Lots for music styles here...

Rock: Fito y los Fitipaldis. I love him because he plays the music he likes to, not the music discographies...

Hard Rock: Extremoduro. Good lyrics and great music.

More Hard Rock (from the '80s/'90s): Barón Rojo. They published an album called Volumen Brutal not only in spanish, but also in english. I recommend you: Concert for them. Iron Maiden was influenced by this band...

Metal: Mägo de Oz. The trilogy "Gaia" is just their best work.

A spanish SRV clone!: Javier Vargas (Blues Band). Just take a look at his look...

Flamenco Blues? Yes, it's possible. And from a guitarist who played beyond B. B. King!: Raimundo Amador. His last album "Medio hombre, medio guitarra" is a good example.

There is also a great Flamenco/Classic guitar player, Vicente Amigo, that is very interesting to listen to. "Ciudad de las ideas" is a good beginning.

Well, I'm looking for some more, but here you have homework for almost a couple of weeks...

PS: I can't understand (and it bothers me a little) why all spanish music is called just "Latin" on the International CDDB. It's just like if you take all english spoken music and tag it as "AngloSaxon" or something similar... Can You explain it to me, please?

Hey Damco, thanks for posting this.

I really like this Raimundo Amador, he is an excellent guitarist, I will definitely be looking for some of his music to buy.

I forgot to mention one of the coolest bands in Spain!

 They're pure Rock'n'Roll!

Los Perros del Boogie - his CD is "Con desprecio y entrega"

PS: I've realized that almost all bands I've recommended use Fender instruments :P
