I have been working on this song for a while now and I have been pulling my hair out with it. The song is "Dreams I'll Never See" by Molly Hatchet. It is a cover of a Duane Allman song. For the past few days I have been pouring over it trying to get it down and it has eluded me. I can get parts but it is a real beast. I am curious if anyone esle has tackled it and had any luck? My hat is off to all who have mastered it, I will stick with it until I get it, however long it takes, probably won't ever play it out but I'll keep it in my pocket just for the sense of pride in getting it. Thanks guys.

Tune your low E string down to "D" and have a ball.

is it the lead or another specific part of the tune? we play this one in standard tuning although i'm going to try the drop d thingy for fun. i can't play any lead note for note but i can hit a few of the lead lines in this tune pretty close. i also like this version and would like to help you out if possible.
keep trying and good luck.

I've been working on the first half of the solo with pretty good results so far. I don't have it as smooth as I would like yet but I am sticking with it. I guess it's one of those things that just takes time. Most likely I won't ever get it note for note but it is fun trying. I can't play the rest of the song correctly either but I can fake it reasonably well. It's all in the presentation...LOL.

if you can play the solo parts, the rythym stuff should be easy for you to get down i think. like i said before, let me know a specific part you are stuck on and i'll be glad to do my best to help you out. i'm no expert by any means but i can fake it pretty good. this tune is one i've played at least 100 times. and another thing, check out some you tube stuff.
you'll have this one down in no time.

I've never liked the Molly version,I have played it though....I stick with the Allman Brothers version in 3/4 time.
The arrangement you're working on is easier...believe it or not...people seem to be able to understand 4/4 time better for some reason.
