ACDC made some great songs... i listen to them quite a bit, but i love slash..... his riffs are great, although i enjoy velvet revolver a bit more because axl brought the band down somewhat to me, but it was a unique sound...... they could still be successful if it weren't for axl leaving shows early because of one fan heckling him or fighting fans

Agreed! With ACDC making so many more records than GNR, They just look like a flash in the pan to me. Slash carried them through what little success they had until Axl screwed things up  So, i guess my vote would have to be for ACDC even though I still love Slash!

Its blatantly obvious.
AC/DC pure and simple.

1. They are a far better band
2. They are a far better band

Guns and roses were a good band, i saw them at donnington park many years ago but they will NEVER be on a par with AC/DC.

As for their new album, i dont know how they can call theirselves guns n roses, The rose would be a more fitting title.

Good album though.

AC/DC is better. Even though they had some rough moments, they are still Rockin. If it wasn't for the death of their first lead singer, they would most likely have all of the same band members as when they started. G&R is now basically the Axl band.

G&R was a great band in the day, but their newest single leaves a lot to be desired.

I think that GnR had better solo's but AC/DC has more feeling and power and overall quality.
and I think that the pick shaped wannabe-sunburst on Slash's LP is really ugly.
I hope I'm causing lots of people to be angry with me by saying all this.

People keep going on about Angus and Malcolm but what about cliff williams, the most underated bass player ever.
If it wasn:t for cliff williams and phil rudd then the band would have no rythym whatsoever.

Obviously, AC/DC has more longevity, but maybe GnR made a bigger splash. I like both.

I like Guns n' Roses more but I think AC/DC is more popular.

I like both bands, I didn't vote. I think I've scored two tickets to the AC/DC gig at Hampden Park this summer, I'm sitting here trying to figure out how I've never seen them before. :?:

I saw ACDC in 1981? - Hells Bells Tour. My kid just got an ACDC hat from Santa.

I think ACDC is my pick.

Wow this threads a Year old!!

AC/DC is way more successful no matter how you measure it. More Hits, More Records, More Influence, More Tickets, More Tours, More Merchandise, and above all, they've never fought publicly amongst themselves, they never ran out on a show, They never forgot about their Fans.

As far as "better" goes, I personaly think they're both really good Bands with annoying lead singers. But between the two I'd hafta say AC/DC cause of Malcom. He's probably he best Rythm Player in the world, next to Dave Mustaine. Which reminds me, I gotta put Malcom and Dave in the Underrated Thread.
