My sport teacher who just happens to be a guitar/music lover just sold me his Beautiful Tele for 850 bucks.

but here's the thing. It's about 12 years old I discovered through this website, thus making it a 1996 model. In other words, a 50th anniversary model.

I checked the body, and found a genuine gold 50th sticker on the head and the official stuff.

It's in perfect condition, olympic white body, pearl style pickguard and pearl style plating on the edges, rosewood neck. plays like a stallion, superb sound, one or two unnoticeable nicks on it.

Was 850 bucks the right amount to sell it for?

It was made in Japan, and they don't make them anymore.

hit me back

I would have to know where it was made? Is it all original?

I remember seeing these in the mid '90's, not 100% sure if it is the same one as yours without a photo-they were Japanese made, basswood body, white with white pearloid body binding and pickguard, and white headstock, I believe a shiny gold Fender Telecaster logo on the front of the headstock, and gold hardware. They also had this model in black with black headstock and gray pearloid binding and pickguard. Very fancy looking!

It's a really nice guitar, I think that Fender only offered them for two years, three tops-and you don't see them often anymore. I wish I could remember what the exact model name (besides Telecaster) was! Does anyone else know?

A nick is a nick, so it should have been around 750-800 instead of 850, IMO.

Your guitar would look like this then...

This model guitar is also sometimes known as "The Edge" guitar, because the guitarist in U2 uses one from time to time.

There were three guitars in that MIJ series. The other two look like this:

The value of these guitars varies quite a bit, mainly depending on how much of the Gold has worn off (which it does with normal wear) or tarnished.

I would have to see how well it played and where it was made before pricing it but i would say $700-$900 would be around right.
