hey everyone, my fret board on my mexican stardard strat (2010) is a light wood (looks like maple) but with darker bits in the grain too. What wood is this?

If it's maple, it will match the wood of the neck on that guitar. The only other option on a standard strat would be rosewood which is a much darker colored wood than maple, which is a light color with a tight grain pattern. Where rosewood is a dark colored wood, with a more open grain pattern.
