while your wife/g.friend sleeps? i have the answer.
i just a few days ago bought myself a pignose 7-100.
had to have it. been wanting one for yrs but just couldnt cough up the funds
for such a small amp. well i found one on CL priced to move so i leaped.
man what a find. i took it home and kicked it around a bit and loved it.
well, i just hooked up one of my tele's to it, and not bad at all. so i lowered to volume and hooked up my OCD to see what i might find. WOW! ive found my extra low volumes tone monster. i cant believe it. i can play right in the next room with all doors open whilst the g.friend sleeps and live to tell the tale. guys this thing is just what the doc ordered i promise you. i have the lil pig at about 30% dime, using the neck pup and tone control about 1/2 way. low volume on the OCD, tone knob dimed, and the drive about 2oclock.
the lil switch flipped down. man this thing is smooth. no damn wonder why
richards, page and the likes often recorded with these lil guys.
if ya got one setting around try it. or if ya hit the local shop this weekend set a rig up and try it out. you will be shocked at the tone this lil pig will give you. no its not tube but it just flat out sings. i'll put it up to the champion600 any day.

This is why I got the Fender champ 600, it simply can get too loud.

way cool jr I have an original Pignose from early 70's and it still works fine today. The serial number is in the low 5,000's or close to it. Try the preamp out. There were a bunch of uo that would just sit outside and jam on battery power. Great sounding little amps and sound great with slide.

An old school buddy and also jamming pal from university days picked up an original Pignose-one of the first made-at the only local pawn shop for an obscenely tiny amount of money(about $60 I believe),the little monster is brutal.BTW this is the same guy with over 30 amps,80 guitars and hundreds of stomp boxes-some of them are priceless gems also.Bless his heart he sold me the '68 2-15 Bassman cab with the original Fender speakers for only $250-make no wonder we stayed buddies.

pignose makes great amps. I have a G40V ll tube 40w and it is killer. I changed the tubes but even stock it was nice. With a little volume it really starts to growl and sounds great with an OD pedal hooked up.

I've always fancied a pignose, an old college friend of mine had one, and it was an awesome little amp. And playing without waking the mrs is a bonus :)

get ya one drew. they are fun as youve read above.
theres times when playing at low volumes, lower than your normal low is needed.
hey theres even times when ya wanna take your guitar on vacation but cant.
(no amp) you can put this amp in a normal size shoe box with a pedal and cords to run it. toss it in your duffle bag and roll.
the history alone with these lil jewels is interesting to read. im glad i finally got it after all this time. after reading the history on them, and seeing who all has used them and on what recordings, kinda makes ya wonder if the little pig can be considered a classic ?

no sir, the wife will love me for it.
1, she has you at home, a big plus.
2, she can now sleep peacefully at night all the while your practicing to be the
rock star your gonna be some day
3, it didnt cost as much as it could have
4, she can kick you out to the back porch or garage without your usually excuse that
you dont have a amp out there to play through.
5, when you misbehave, she can take your power supply and batteries away until you
"straighten up and act right" lol. see, its a win-win tell her. now go get your little porky and have some fun.
oh 6, when the wife tells you to go play with your lil porky you can do it dressed and it wont embarrass the rest of the family if you get caught.
