Hey guys, Anybody have any good rock hard rock settings for your blackstar amp. I have the ht20 and cant seem to find a really good one, and once i have one I always screw up and lose it! Thanks, Izzy.

I've had a few Blackstar amps - no bad experiences, they're great!
Tone is absolutely subjective but a good tip would be to set everything (except volume!) at 12 O'clock and fine tune from there. Gain is obviously the first thing to set but as your model has the ISF knob, I'd be inclined to start there. That knob really has a massive effect on the overall tonal characteristics. Again, start in the middle and experiment until you're happy. It's also worth keeping in mind that one particular sound may not work best for everything.

Hi StratyLesPaul: I don't have a Blackstar amp but I do have their HT-Dual pedal, which apparently is the same circuit as the HT amps. For a lead / hard rock sound I'd be using the distortion section of my pedal which I think equates exactly to the overdrive section of your amp. Mine would not be the most over the top settings - here they are:

Gain - 1 o'clock
Bass - 12 o'clock
Middle - 10 o'clock
Treble - 1 o'clock
ISF - 11 o'clock
Level (volume) - 9 o'clock (or as required)

I find for the higher drive sounds I want that ISF slightly towards the left of center point. For more traditional crunchy tones (my main thing) I tip it further clockwise. Probably the same goes for the middle knob.
