I quite like the look of the roadworn tele with the humbucker.

Surely Gibson having good custom shop guitars is due to their $@!& at a wall marketing technique? Some of it is bound to stick.

I think I heard Fender have issues with paint supply. But I hear ya- they are so boring now, it will put anyone off buying one new.

I hope someone can shed some light though as to whether or not that is entirely true. I'd like to think that they are indeed having issues and we can buy a CAR, Fiesta Red, Sonic Blue etc.. colours without buying Customshop models real soon

I meant that Gibson releases so many new guitars that some of them are bound to be good, but there's no shortage of duds either, maybe marketing wasn't the right word.
I do agree that more colour options would be good.

Color is not my top priority when purchasing a guitar but I know what you mean. I guess.

Think about it lads. Despite what's offered being not to your tastes. Do you really think that a gargantuan company like Fender is fool enough to not put out what sells most?

It's why the Standard, and AVRI 52/57/62 have been in the cataloge so long.

Fender do sell more than Gibson though. Besides which I think Tochai was pointing more towards the new models rather than choice of range. Think about it, Fender offer a minimum of 3 colours per guitar, not per series.

The Esquire was never that popular anyway was it? I thought people shyed away from them because of the one pickup. You can have a Tele with 2 pickups for much the same dough.

I have held my reservations, but I'll call myself frank and voice my opinion- I don't like that guitar. No sir, I don't like it.

It isn't because of the flag motif, it's just that it's just too punkass as far as I'm concerned. Some people will take the pickguards off their SRV's to make them look inconspicuous, but that guitar is just ridiculus & OTT.

I don't think that even one of those guitars will be sold in NZ. It will appeal to the USA market only. I wouldn't even pull that out at a gig unless I had enough braun to hold my own.

Just my own opinion, as it were & I guess we are all different one way or another :)

+1000

Definitely butt-ugly!

I don't need a guitar, or a lapel-pin flag for that matter, to tell the world who I am.
