I think that if Linda hadn't lost her battle with cancer, they'd still be together.

I think so too, they seemed to be a perfect match.

She seemed to be a quick learner for some of those keyboard parts on
the 'Wings' tours too. I remember seeing Macca back around '04 or '05
and Paul 'Wix' Wickens (keyboards) mentioned something about missing
Linda's parts in a couple of spots.

Sir Paul would be hard pressed to find someone as compatable as Linda-she was certainly his soul mate.As Arjay suggested a pre-nupt could be his best friend and save him a lot of grief and money.

Something like three months, I seem to recall.

Heather Mills claims it was him who came after her like an Exocet missile rather than the other way around, and whatever we think of her that has the ring of truth, to my ears. No doubt it was foolish of him, but that sounds like a man in an awful lot of bereavement pain. People do silly things when they're hurting.

I haven't got a word to say against Macca. I wish him luck for the future.

Cheers - C

I've noticed that many people who have had successful long-term relationships (like Paul and Linda) often do not choose well when they are on the market again.

Perhaps it's because those people made it work once, they don't see how a less dedicated/loyal/honest person makes such a terrible spouse...or they don't appreciate that the lost spouse's qualities/actions were just as important to the success of the coupling as their own qualities/actions.

It sounds corny, but I found my soul mate with my wife, and I have no idea what I would do if she were no longer with me. I seriously doubt I would get married ever again, and if I did, I wouldn't do it very soon.

All I can say is " Thank You for the Music, Sir Paul "
I really would not want to trade places with McCartney, for all he has, watching my wife slowly die of cancer is not anything I would wish to experience.
As for his personal life, I have never met him...( yet  )

That must have been one of the hardest things that he's had to deal with.

Hi SA: that's a great post, I support every word of that.

With Paul it was certainly the phenomenon they call "bereaved man syndrome" - though I've seen it apply equally to women too. Someone loses the love of their life and is so utterly torn apart at finding half of their life suddenly a gaping cavernous hole they simply cannot bear it and have to fill that void immediately. Somehow.

Just as you say, at that terrible point in their life their judgement is likely not working too well and - disrespect to Heather Mills to one side - they are probably not in the best frame of mind to make a relationship work anyhow, no matter how saintly the new partner.

McCartney has done so much music I've loved all my life, and from those that have met him I hear he's about as nice and down to earth a fella as we could hope to find. So I'd like to think he's now got his feet on the ground and this time has found himself someone good he can go through the rest of life with. I know nothing of her but she certainly looks all right in the photo!

I wish them well.

Cheers - C

EDIT: typo

I agree - - she does look fine!

From what I understand she's also her own woman and a very down-to-earth type who is financially independent.

The Beatles
Wings
Jane Asher
Linda
Heather
Nancy

Could make for an interesting biography...

The Beatles And Their Women. That would indeed make for a complicated book...!
