They're not the same as ebay, but you can find some great deals
on certain items if you're quick. I just registered to watch a few.
The "Buy It Now" seems to be full retail, but most seem to be going the
bidding route.

"What Is QuiBids?
QuiBids is a revolutionary new style of live-bidding auctions on the internet! On QuiBids you'll find high-end products at phenomenal prices. You can get incredible deals at 90% or better every single day.

How QuiBids Works:

Each bid costs just $0.60. Bids are available in Bid Packs of 40, 75, 300, 600 and 800 bids. These bids are pre-paid and placed in your Bids Account. Each time you place a bid, one bid is deducted from your Bids Account, and a maximum of 20 seconds is added to the timer each time someone bids. This gives enough time for someone else to make the decision to bid if they're interested. This is similar to the “Going Once...Twice...SOLD” approach of auctions.

If you are the top bidder when the timer reaches zero, you win! You then pay the ending auction price plus shipping. If you do not win, you lose your bids that have been placed; however, we offer on most auctions a "Buy it Now" feature! This feature allows you to put the money spent in bids on the item towards buying the item.

Just won an 8GB SanDisk thumb drive for $3.81 + $4. shipping. Not bad.

It seems the timing of your bids is most important and it reverts back to 20 seconds left after each bid.

I don't like the idea of paying for the priveledge of spending my money. It just seems wrong somehow. Glad you got a good deal though.

Just like the other penny auction sites out there. BeeZid is the big one. They make there money on the amount of bids placed which is how they sell new cars sometime for 5 or 6 thousand but there are thousands of bids made on them at a cost per bid. Someone gets it cheap maybe for 6,000 but they make 20G's in bid charges. 20G's + 6 G's equals 26,000 for a car that cost them 17,000

I was about to write a similar thing

they are really just gambling sites disguised as an auction site.

Each bid usually costs around $0.60

so an ipad for $30.00 means there were 3000 bids of 60 cents netting the site $1800 for a $600 ipad

great way of making loads of money on peoples obsession with gambling. No reason to keep stock, as soon as someone "wins" the auction order the thing from amazon or apple and send it to the "winner"

Yep - - 3 bids @ .60 = 1.80
>---------- winning bid .32
>------------ shipping 9.99

---------------------> $12.11 with factory warranty - - I call that a bargain!
