I've never played one so I can't comment on that. I do think that they look very cool though.

They're made in Japan I seem to remember.

I almost bought an '06 Aerodyne when I bought my Jimmie Vaughn Strat back in March. The MIJ guitar I tried had a beautiful natural finish what looked to be a maple top and white binding. The neck must have had a 12" radius as it felt a lot flatter than most Strats that I have played.I wasn't all that impressed by the sound of it,it certainly wasn't what I had expected from an MIJ Strat as it sounded somewhat thin but then again maybe I didn't give it enough time to set the EQ on the amp to suit it.The flatness of the fretboard was the biggest issue for me,it would be ideal for shredding.

Played the old all black Aerodyne. It was Japanese and I have to say was a tremendous guitar. Easily on a par with my VHR. If they were still available, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
I've no opinion of the new multicoloured ones.
