I'm thinking about getting a job a job at the fender factory in corona. I'm wondering though, do I just go there and say I want a job here or do I have to have some kind of experience? And if anyone knows what the working conditions or pay is like, then that would be nice to know.

If you want to see the factories, search on "Fender Factory Tour" and you'll find some sites with great pictures.

As for a job, yes, I would go there to see if they are taking applications.
Perhaps you'd start by sweeping floors ...

I'd say some experience with woodworking might help! Being able to play would obviously be a plus too :p

You should try to contact them, or ring the management of the factory and ask how you'd go about applying, what experience you need or where to apply. (I'd look for their phone number in some soft of directory like the Yellow pages maybe?). ;)

Hope that helped.

A good place to start might be here:

fenderhr@fender.com

That's Fender's HR dept. They might be helpful if they've got a few minutes.

hehehe, you make it sound so easy. I'm not too sure they hire just any Joe off the street.

I would think it'd take an act of congress to get a job with Fender. You know they have people everyday breaking down the doors for a job.

Oh yeah, big time. Every guitar player with woodworking skills would love that gig. I'm sure they've got more apps and resumes then they'll ever need.

One thing that might help is what kind of experience do you have? Woodworking? Marketing? Sales? Manufacturing? CNC operator? Soldering/Electronics? IT systems? Pushing a broom?

It's gonna be hard for someone to tell you about pay or conditions without knowing what sort of position your talking about. The guy pushing a broom and cleaning bathrooms is gonna have it way diferent then the marketing guys or production guys.

I would love to have a job in the custom shop doing relic jobs.

In my opinion Fenders relic'ing is not as good as it should be, their relic jobs don't look authentic enough, especially for the coin there asking for these custom guitars.

Gidday Guys, How do I score a job working in the Fender factory? I've had some experience working wood works and working with lathe machinery, I've had a couple of Strats.... 1974 blackie and 57' re-issue vintage white, they were great!

So, could you guys give me the chance to come to Corona, expenses paid from Sydney,Australia to LAX.

even if you consider this as a promo?... 8)
Thanks for your time xxx
