im planning on putting a EXT speaker mod on my blues jr.
i have a empty 1X12 cab that fits nicely under the jr.
would it be suggested that i match the speaker brand thats
in the tweed blues jr or go for something else?

oh no problem bro. the more links we have to that thread the better.
thats a very educational post. i love the Blues jr and wouldnt trade it for anything.
the tone in my tweed and the OCD is amazing. a true blues tone in my opinion.
no other amp can give me that combo's tone that ive found. sansamp with OCD
can come close though.

yeah i just want to see what the ext cab will give this amp. i hear its a great adition to the amp. i have a spare cab and want to use it. even has a open back option.
i think i might get a duplicate speaker for the cab as well. just to keep the tone
more balanced. i love the tone of my jr so why change it right?

Just my 2 cents here.. You can use any speaker you like as long as the ohms are the same and the speaker is rated for the max out put of your amp. It may be to your liking to use a different brand/type to achieve your own sound/tone. also consider using a long speaker cable and separate the two for a "pseudo" stereo effect

Bill

agreed bill. im gonna stick with the same speaker. i love the tone as-is and dont want to mess with it to much. the pseudo effect is an idea too lol.

the cab i have is missing the plate and jack in the back. its been a bear trying to find a square plate that looks to be 1.5 inches square to replace the missing one. then looking for a jack to fit it lol. im not the best at looking for parts on the web though.
ok i suck at it actually. if its not common i cant find it to save my life.

In order for you to match the ohms that the amp uses you would need 2 16 ohm speakers run in parallel or 2 4 ohm speakers run in series.
