KOL have hardly sold out, they're definitely one of the least commercially minded acts in the mainstream.
They've told of festival crowds for only reacting to songs off only by the night, and the wanted the two songs which went on to be massively successful to be left off the album.
People only accuse them of having sold out because other people like them now.
As for the arctic monkeys, their first album was the fastest selling debut in history and they've had quite a few top 10 hits, and 2 number ones.

but really go to your job/school/wherever your around a lot of people and ask "So have you heard the latest Artic Monkey's single?" im guessing at least 60% will say no. As for KOL they should really throw out their keyboards, theyre definatley pop, he has an amazing voice though

I've had people look over my shoulder at my ipod while I'm listening to songs off Arctic Monkey's most recent album and know it.
As for KOL, their new stuff not being to your taste isn't the same as them selling out, they've grown a lot since youth and young manhood.
Admittedly though, the first single from the new album is pretty woeful.
