i have a couple cymbals ive just dug up. they are med/heavy tarnished.
what do you use to clean them up nicely?
please guys dont suggest anything if your not in the know.
some cleaners turn cymbals colors because they arent the right cleaner.

you mean if they can get their girlfriend to read the post to them and then type a coherent translation of their reply while they wash the dishes to pay her back for yet another night that they spent crashed at her place because " ya know, I'm outdoors and all..."

He is the one that when he knocks on your door, it's rhythmic and seems to get faster the longer he knocks.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

As to metal polish I like Flitz.

I used this at work on my bike, my car and to polish headlamps on cars.
It works fast and last quite a long time.

Hi WCjr: I was a drummer before I was a guitarist (and still am). The answer to your problem - Zildjian cymbal polish. Or Paiste cymbal polish. Other good brands are also available.

Cleaning dirty finger marks off cymbals is really, really boring. Do it in sections, working the cleaner with a cloth along the direction of the grooves and polishing seriously hard to get the stuff off after. Your fingers will get amazingly tired before you're done.

Alternatively. Even cheapo cymbals are pretty good quality these days. Privately, I suspect the ones you dug out would have to be very top range to make it worth the effort of cleaning 'em up rather than just buying some new ones. But it's your party...

Cheers - C
