I know I may sound reptitive, I'm just trying to make sure I don't completley screw up and get something I do not need. Before I get down to business I'm gonna tell you what I'm playing and all of that crap:

Guitar: Squier Bullet Strat
Amp: Fender Mustang
Amp Settings: Gain 7, Bass 3, Treble 7, Master 4, Mod A1(Chorus), Del/Rev C1(Spring '65 Rverb)
Pedals: Boss DS-1
Style of Playing: The Vaselines after an assault by My War era Black Flag, Big Black, and Jimi Hendrix

Okay, so as you can see Ive got a distortion pedal, but I'm looking to get three other effects units. My problem is I don't know what I should get next to compliment what I already have and the style I'm trying to play. Ive been considering the Danelectro Cool Cat Vibe, possibly the Vox Wah, maybe the Big Muff Pi, there's just so many choices its overwhelming. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW: I have a budget of about $100

a nice delay is always a plus. come in handy in just about every style of music known.
pedals are a personal choice. its kinda like clothes are as far as personal choice goes.
a solid wah would be needed if hendrix is your flavor.

I always prefer overdrive pedals to distortion pedals. Since you already have a BOSS you might think about the SD1. It's got lots of hair and bite but also lets the sound of the guitar come through. Also the Diamond Drive a very fat OD and much warmer than the BOSS. A traditional OD is the Ibanez TS808 (or the newer version TS9). The BOSS will be the cheapest of those 3.

The Dano Cool Cat is a decent pedal for the dollar. They also make an OD pedal in the Daddy-O but it's more than just OD. Useful tone but not really a purist's idea of an OD pedal. Steer clear of the Fab-Tone. It's a usefull tone but it's a one-trick-pony. If you opt for the Daddy-O make sure you get the full size version. Dano's mini pedals are kinda cheesy.

A Morely wah might be easier to modulate than the VOX as it has a smoother transition from "ooow" to "eeeh" but is a little less vocal sounding, also adds a little more color to the tone than the VOX.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I would get an Ibanez Weeping Demon wah pedal it's fully adjustable from everything like on old Jimi wah tone, right up to extremely vocal wah for like thrash metal and more.

also its either foot stomp controlled or automatic like a Morley, i found it the al round best for gigging. one wah rather then 4.

if thats your limit i would find a used carbon copy and save your cash for a dunlop wah thats used also. dont be afraid to buy used pedals.

^ I agree, when you posted you didn't say anything about 100 limit. that is a limit that may only get you one pedal even used, maybe two if you search.

A carbon Copy is an amazing pedal, and if you get a Dunlop cry baby, it can easily modded if you can read and use a soldering iron to sound like anything wah you need.

Utilize your mustang amp and fuse bro....lots of effects built in.
If I had only 100 bucks to spend...I would go for the wah pedal for sure
my .02...enjoy bro

i do, i just dont have a footswitch, thts why im set on pedals, its easier to change sounds throughout songs, Im starting to get the idea i need a good hendrix sound, so Its between the Vox V847A Wah Pedal or the Danelctro Cool Cat Vibe Pedal now. Both are similiar to what Hendrixe used, the Cool Cat is based on his old Uni-Vibe and the Wah is the reissue of one he used. Which is more important though????? Wah or Vibe

For $100 I have to plug my buddies OD pedals.

DMB Pedals, either the Stellar Drive or Lexi Drive. Both great choices for $100.

I suspect like most of us at one point, you want to use multiple effects to make a dramatic statement with in a song. Well, aside from the volume knob on your guitar, you don't have much scope for change in song via the amp.
The most expressive pedal you'll ever own is a wah. Any wah. Other than buying one, then saving up for other pedals I don't see you have much of an option. Other than getting a multieffects unit which for some unfathomable reason you've ruled out.
Myself, I'd shell out for a Zoom G1 or a Digitech RP50/100/150 and be done with it until you're in a position to really lay out dough. You're chasing your tail otherwise.

personally, just my opinion here, i would get something thats more usable
for the time being. you not gonna use the wah but probably 30% of the time at the very most. the very most, unless all you play is hendrix and the maybe dozen or so songs he used the wah as a wah on.
keep in mind that your budget is limited for now. i would work on developing your own
"sound" before i chase anothers. i would buy pedals that help you develop your own
"voice" before you get a pedal based on your idols usage.
just my experiences speaking here and personal opinion.
my opinion sucks most of the time, just ask anybody here lol.

BTW no single pedal you listed thus far will get you into Hendrix tone territory. A fuzz and a wah are the building blocks for the tone. The amp is the foundation.

very good nevin.
this is why i suggested he get his own tone down first, then go chasing if he wishes.

I already have a chorus in my sound, so which is more essential considering i already have a ds1, a fuzz or a wah, and the reason ive ruled out multi effects is because they all look like pieces of $@!&, and the only convincing ones are way beyond my price range. Just $@!& it im getting the Vox Wah

delay, delay, DELAY.
theres so many uses for this type of pedal in defining ones own personal tone.
its also a pedal you can have in use 90% of the time if not more. way more versitle
than a wah pedal.
