Ron Kirn has been making his Barnbuster Teles out of 100-105 year-old loblolly pine from barns for a while now; great sustain and with his hand-wound pickups, they have wonderful tone. They also have handmade Bakelite pick guards and Wilkinson compensated saddles.

That is an insane price to be asking for an instrument that Leo designed to be mass produced and inexpensive/accessable to an average Joe. I gag when I see Strats and Tele's over a grand.
