Whatever happened to that superb (Fender Precision) bass player Jerome Arnold?

Arnold most notably played in the Paul Butterfield Blues Band alongside Mike Bloomfield, Elvin Bishop, Mark Naftalin, and that paragon of drummers, Sam Lay. He held down the bass slot for Bob Dylan in the early electric days, and he also played, I believe, with Howlin' Wolf, and Billy Boy Arnold (no idea if the latter was any relative). That first 1965 Butterfield album, which I was just listening to again tonight, was really my first proper introduction to electric blues as a teenager, shortly after the album was released, and Jerome Arnold was probably my first real bass hero.

Google throws up tantalising hints, but when you track them down, they all lead back to the Paul Butterfield Band. Is Jerome Arnold still alive, I wonder? Still working, still playing his matchless, furry grooves at the bottom end of a blues band in some bar in Chicago or Philadelphia? Does anyone know?

searched and only info available is in the context of bands that he played in, no FB or Myspace pages, hopefully he is enjoying retirement somewhere.
