I still have hundreds of those as well as my old 45rpm singles and EPs plus a big collection of shellac 78rpms from the 40s and 50s. I developed a very early interest in listening to music, at the age of 2 to be precise (that was 1969), so I have amassed a huge collection of vinyl and CDs over the years. My favourites are my original US Sun 45s and my mono copies of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper and Revolver, which I wish EMI would release on CD. Unfortunately, all second-hand vinyl shops seem to have closed down here in the UK so I have stopped collecting.

I had a WW 2 German Luger that my father in law took off an officer, but I promised him I would pass it down to my son which is what I just did.

Got it in the kids room for old cartoons like carebears and batteries not included stuff like that, I also am one of the few people that like Cassettes more then cd's I still listen to cassettes all the time, because you have to listen to the album can't skip through it, so your forced to buy only good albums not the one hit filler crap now adays .

This is a fascinating thread!
In music gear my oldest thing is my 1963 Silvertone S1423 Stratotone Jupiter.
Not that old compared to many guitars people here have, but it's all original and still plays and sounds great - the DeArmonds scream :!:

Other than that I have a small carving in semi-precious stone from Ireland roughly 400 years ago, given to me by a Native American friend. A beautiful piece of work.

I guess it would be an M-352 Key Wind Music Box.

Happy rewinding and fast forwarding! I used a cassette the other day for the first time in about 10 years to transfer a track from an old band of mine into the computer. I had forgotten what a hassle it was finding the beginning of a track!

I have a picture of my great great grandfather and gg grandmother dated 10 October 1897 on the back. I also have a family Bible where the earliest inscription is 1886, but being small, was never used after that to keep a record of family events. We believe it was given to my great grandfather for Sunday school possibly at around age 5 or so. The interesting thing there is that this would have been before they emigrated from Switzerland to the US, yet the Bible and the few sentences in pencil are all in English.

My oldest musical itema are a hand pump organ given to my grandmother back in the early 1920s and my grandfather's violin. Both instruments were probably made in the 1890s. The organ is collectible only while the violin is playable -- it's the one I inherited in junior high.

My oldest guitar is a Guild "student" model (pic to follow when I get home) that was made in 1953. This is in fair shape (original D'Armond pup!) and playable, though I take it out only sparingly.

Some old books from around 1930-1940. Some of them are readable, some of them aren't.

Also, I have some old vinyls with the oldest (I think) being Thelonious Monk's Criss Cross from 1962.

Coin here too...1802 US large cent, pretty worn but still cool. Our early pennys were the size of a quarter (maybe a bit bigger).
