I'm down to eight. I sold 2 at the columbus guitar show this year. If I still had kept all I sold, I'm sure it would be over 30 guitars?
I have right now

1 Gibson lp std
2 Gibson sg special P90"s
3 Fender american deluxe fat strat w/ ssh
4 Rickenbacker 12 string
5 Fender american precision 5 string bass
6 Pedulla fretless 5 string bass
7 rickenbacker 8 string bass
8 currently having a 6 string acoustic built for me

Would like to have 2 more but not really gassing anymore?

There was a time when I always wanted one more, but now I see more guitars than I actually play as a liability, not an asset. It's like having more girlfriends than you can handle. You still don't want to see them go, you will miss them, and it's a hard choice to make, but I think it's still the right one.
Hoarding anything that requires maintenance is not wise, in my opinion.

I have a buddy at work that has about 25 guitars. He's bought a bunch of lower to mid priced Fenders & Gibsons. Putting in better pickups and parts. Now he's thinking selling off some of these to buy top of the line guitars?

I think as I am getting older, I don't need as much. My guitars are my kids, since I don't have real ones. Also with the prices of new guitars, ouch...... I have what I need with alot of different tones with what I have.

I just turned 62. Also I have a grand daughter to think of !!!!!!

I think around nine at the moment. Truth be told, I wish I could get rid of some of them and get something else, like a hollow or semi hollow body bass (currently what I'm GAS'n for, but that actually goes way back when I was 16,) but some of them also need work done to them. The ones that are working right do the job, though.

I'm up to 14 with the purchase of a Stratocaster XII, my first twelve-string. It's harder to play than I thought.

Now my GAS list is devoid of guitars. Would like a new MIDI keyboard, volume pedal, a power block for a pedalboard and another small tube amp.

It's been 3 years since I started learning the guitar. In that time, I've acquired, and am holding at, 9 guitars and one ukulele.

They are in order:

2011 FSR Ltd. Ed. American Vintage '57 Stratocaster

Image

1999 Nashville Telecaster Deluxe

Image

2010 Epiphone AJ 100CE

Image

2011 Applause (Ovation) AE-128

Image

2012 Lanikai Ltd. Ed. Flame Maple Tenor Ukulele

Image

2010 Heritage H-535

Image

2011 Telebration 60th Anniversary Empress Telecaster

Image
(left as you face it)

2010 Martin DC-1E

Image

2013 FSR Telecaster Custom HH

Image

2014 American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster

Image

I play them all and each is very different.

But, I won't buy another without first selling one of these... space, if nothing else, requires it !!

There is a Les Paul Standard lurking somewhere in my future, so look for me to cull the herd at some point.

cheers!

Nice collection. 8) I'm diggin' that black Tele, especially. Didn't they make a red one like that and it has a set neck?

Yes, but it's quite different.

They made a Fender Special Edition Custom Telecaster® FMT HH

Image

This is an MIK guitar and it has a Seymour Duncan SHPGP-1B Pearly Gates Plus bridge Humbucker and a
Seymour Duncan SH-1N RP '59 Reverse-Polarity neck humbucker (w/ coil-splitting)

There is also the Fender Blacktop HH Telecaster which is MIM.

Image

It has a bolt-on neck which had Hot Vintage alnico humbuckers. It was available in Candy Apple Red. It has been discontinued.

Mine is a MII (Indonesia) Fender Custom Telecaster HH which has a bound set mahogany neck, bound carved mahogany body and EMG active pickups (EMG 80 neck/EMG 85 bridge).

Image

The action is great, the intonation amazing. Terrific sustain w/ the set neck and thru-body hardtail bridge. It is worth well north of it's asking price. Though the cheapest, it's one of the nicest guitars I own.

cheers!

I have a 12 string Strat. Is great for barre and power chords.

Five years later, I can add:
--a cheepie Epiphone Special 90 (a funky/cool sounding Epi LP Special with a bolt-on neck and two P-90s; it was made in 2011)
--1983 G&L Nighthawk (dead stock "rare bird"; only 269 were made, and this one used to belong to Brad Traweek!).

Oh my. You'll have to tell us more about that Tele Bass with the very wrong headstock.

Also, what's the double-HB G&L?
