Certainly not new, and probably not to everyone's taste. But none the less some authentic blues history here. 8)

known as a great jazz songstress who sang a few pop songs too, her voice expresses the blues as well:

I don't want to start a new thread, so I'll put this here:

Can you please help me? What kind of Amp is using Henry Vestine (i think it's him) in this video:

(4:24 - Look on amp)

KmetoSVK, couldn't make the amp in that video sorry. I saw them 3 times at the old Electric Theater/Kinetic Playground in Chicago and Henry used a massive wall of what looked like Bandmaster cabinets to produce his incredibly loud ripping/screaming tone/sound. Saw them for the last time at the White City festival in London without Henry and Alan. It just wasn't the same band. In this video at the Playboy mansion in Chicago he is using what looks to be a Twin Reverb. One would require those old Fender 12"s to achieve that sound.

Found this posted on my friendface page:
The Rolling Stones
Today Mick and Keith paid tribute to Hubert Sumlin, legendary blues guitarist, and right hand man to Howlin' Wolf.

Mick:
"Hubert was an incisive yet delicate blues player. He had a really distinctive and original tone and was a wonderful foil for Howlin' Wolf's growling vocal style. On a song like "Goin' Down Slow" he could produce heart-rending emotion, and on a piece like "Wang Dang Doodle" an almost playful femininity. He was an inspiration to us all."

Keith:
"With sorrow I received the news of Hubert's pasing. He put up a long hard fight. To me he was an uncle and a teacher and all the guitar players must feel the same as myself. Warm, humorous and always encouraging, he was a gentleman of the first order. Miss him, yes, but we have his records. All my condolences to his family. One love, Hubert"

This one goes out to you Hubert.
