The most I ever paid for a pair of sunglasses was $20.For the amount of sun we get that's bloody extravagant.

I've worn the same type of sunglasses for forty years -- the GI-issue aviator glasses made by American Optical. Before retiring from the military I used to get them for free from the unit's supply section. I stocked up on them before I left, along with several new pairs of Nomex flyer's gloves (they're great for driving too).

I hope the statute of limitations is over for you. Some right wing deficit vigilante might make a citizen's arrest there in AZ and banish you over the border. :P How long were you in the air force?

No chance of that......I still have the legitimate hand-receipt that was given to me at the time they were "issued".

I may be a thief.

But not a stoopid one!

You spoke of making jumps in the Army in full gear and with a full ditty bag. Where and when did you make these jumps?

Airborne deployments were a routine part of my duties as a USAF combat controller -- 55 para-drops all told, including my 5 school jumps at Benning.

For my trouble I got bad knees and herniated discs at L5 and L6.

No tats but I am still carrying a Russian-made "piercing" lodged near my renal artery.

You are a trend-setter. First piercing. Was it an AK in Vietnam?

You guys are making me feel a little young here...when I was in the Army, they issued Wiley-X shades that were built for someone with a very large head...lol. I hated those things, I wear a 7 1/2" hat (cover for any hardcore vets out there...lol) and they still fell off of my big old head.
Keeping with the topic of this post, I always wear cheap sunglasses. I always lose/break expensive shades, but with cheapos I could throw them in the ocean then come back home and find them on my computer desk. lol. But I like Arnette's if I was gonna spend some good cash for a pair.

Ray-Ban RB4034 601 are my current style.

I've owned multiple pairs of Ray-Bans because they have the best quality vs. price vs. style selections available...

...as far as the cheap vs. expensive idea, I still have every pair of sunglasses (cheap or pricey) I've ever owned, save one pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers that were stolen.

Ray-Ban/Luxoticca will repair your glasses fairly cheaply, even if it's years later and the style is no longer produced (such as the pair I wear now), which adds to the value of the brand.

8) 8)
