Looks like I've got some learning to do. The new stuff looks cool though.

since I'm already posting I'm just gonna put a couple things out there,
1) guitar builder doesn't seem to be working for me, using google chrome or internet explorer
2) cant edit my avatar or at least I haven't found where to yet.
3) not really a problem but just something to help out, the old forums you could select to automatically sign in each visit, I cant find this in the new forums.

anyways it's to be expected to have some problems at launch. loving the new forums.

EDIT: found where to change avatars and it says

guess that explains it?

The Guitar Builder had some brief issues but is back up and running. Avatars are a known issue that I'll address ASAP.

Brad, the site is looking very nice. At the risk of playing Monday-morning quarterback, I do have one minor suggestion for the left column. Now that we're able to assign custom avatars (which is a great feature, by the way), I'd prefer to see it right under the username. In fact, I suggest reordering all the information in the left column from this:

username - status - rank - picks - avatar - joined - posts - location

to this:

username - avatar - picks - rank - location - posts - joined - status

Just food for thought. But as I said, everything looks very cool. Thank you for giving us such a great forum! 8)

Glad I read this...I was just sitting here scratching my head trying to figure out what setting I screwed up that blocked me from changing my avatar, should have done some reading ahead of time...lol.

The guitar builder's options are very limited.

For example the only body shape available is the Strat-style. Also, new body shapes rather than the Stratocaster must be added: Telecaster, Tele Custom, Deluxe, Thinline (69 & 72), Mustang, Bronco, Jaguar, Jazzmaster and much more.

For the neck, only 21 frets are currently available. Adding an option allowing the user to chose the number of frets and the fretwire size would be nice. Additional fretboard inlays rather than the already existing ones: abalone dots, mother-of-pearl stars, black pearloid dots and blocks.

Bridge assemblies: 2-point pivot with block and bent-steel saddles, Deluxe Locking w/LSR Roller & locking machine heads, Jag/Jazzmaster with tremolo lock, Electric XII & many others.

Guitar Builder needs further expansion with a bass guitar option and a variety of shapes: Precision and Jazz Basses in various guises: Boner, American Deluxe (1995-2009), Roscoe Beck, Steve Bailey, 51 reissue, TeleBass '72 and so on.

More to come later.

I like it, I'll try to find some free time to explore the new options...
