I think that some have missed the point I was trying to make, she was in fact hurting someone other than herself by the simple fact that there are hordes of youngsters that hang on everything that she says or does. As one whose actions are watched and emulated by so many impressional kids she has a moral responsibility to keep her "Goody Two Shoes" image as pristine as possible. If she wants to engage in things that could damage her image that's her business but where she has such an influencial effect on the lives of young girls she should have enough maturity and common sense to do it discreetly.I have in my past life put enough illicit chemicals and compounds through my system to make Keith Richards wince. Now I very rarely drink alcohol but still enjoy my occasional herbal compounds moreso than booze so I'm no prude but with fame and influence there does come a certain modicum of responsibility that Miley Cyrus certainly hasn't exhibited.

Okay,as an old geezer who has never heard of smoking salvia,I have to ask,is it as potent as weed or less? :?
As far as Miley Cyrus,I think she's just beginning to start sowing her wild oats...she will be in the news often in the future I think.

It's different to weed. It can range from doing hardly anything, to giving you giggles, to totally losing your mind and hallucinating for a few minutes. Not a long lasting effect like smoking weed will give you.

Smoking salvia in and of itself isn't a bad thing, its not as bad for you as alcohol, and it isn't illegal.

having smoked the stuff i beg to differ. and reading about people's experiences online, and from my own experience, i can tell you salvia is some scary s***. i would say that whatever causes your brain to think a garage door or your own reflection is attacking you is a bad thing. both happened to me, and i tried the stuff once.

as for it being legal, so is "spice", and that stuff put me in the e.r.. beware of these "new" and "legal" drugs. they most likely have harmful unknown side effects.

i just searched for the video and i can't believe there's already an auto-tune remix.

The difference being "Spice" is a synthetic mix of substances and chemicals, essentially a designer drugs, wheras salvia is a plant that has been used by the indigenous population for countless centuries.

Not the same thing at all.

yeah i guess ur right on that. but i'd still be cautious about it. like weed, it's good in moderation. my rules on drugs (at least well known and natural ones) are try it once, if you don't like it, don't do it. if you do like it, don't do it for another two weeks.

i've heard people say over and over again how weed is safe, and while that may be true, there's no doubting how addicting it can be. my best friend almost ruined his life. he was pawning off movies and games, his mom's jewellery, and once broke into someone's house just to get a dime. he did much worse than that, but i won't mention it. that stuff controlled his life for four years. if he hadn't made it out of that scene, he'd be in jail or dead in two years, no doubt.

And how many 18 year olds that we know are discreet ??

Seriously it isn't the end of the world, I'm a bit more concerned that amongst teens, Cannabis intake is way up and quickly replacing cigarettes. Especially amongst the 8th to 10th grade.

As for celebrities being role models, that entire concept is so perverse, role models should be the people who make a difference in their neighborhood, town, region, state, country and who largely go about their business inconspicuously.
Iv'e always gotten a sour taste from someone who does something productive than needs to have that publicized to the max for their own self promotion.

its been that way with pot since at least the 90s dude.... what you SHOULD be concerned about with us is the unbelievable number of teenage pregnancies and the general whore-ishness of this generation

Sadly that's the way society has "progressed"over the past few decades, parental guidance and community partaking in a child's upbringing in many cases has been replaced by kids using the likes of Miley Cyrus Justin Beaver and such as role models. Many parents have abandoned the hands on approach of raising their kids and let them stumble through life with little or no guidance or discipline and more and more affluent parents have left the nurture and care of their children to nannies and other domestics and of course that favourite baby sitting service the television and more recently the net where they can gain access to any kind of negative influences.

As "Frankie Goes to Hollywood" sang it quite eloquently

W..E..L..C..O..M..E  To the pleasure dome !!

Teen pregnancies, that has been a problem for a very long time and as far as self centered ingrates, that is in response to parents and the previous generations win at all costs attitude, schlepping your kids off to school and having someone else take up the reins because we are too busy does not bode well for us when we get old and will need assistance.
Because then the answer will be " Where were you ?.. When I needed You ??
Cynical I am...

You may be cynical but there's truth in what you say-a lot of parent's actions or more specifically inaction will come back to haunt them.

I agree 100% I work with kids a few months a year in my photography business. Parent need to take control and be parents, not best friends. 8 year olds shouldn't be "Booty Popin" while they're walking down the hall with their friends. Parents should be role models not celebrities period.

I was more discreet at 18 than many adults I knew and I chose my friends carefully so I wouldn't get caught doing some of the stuff I was doing.
