Where I used to be able to sit in the livingroom and pluck at my electric guitars with headphones while my better half watched the tele,I can't do that with my new Epi Les Paul,it's almost as loud as my Casinos when played unplugged.I know that's a nice complaint to have but that means that I can't enjoy my new toy when she's watching her shows.I don't know if it's chambered or not but she's very loud acoustically and weighs 8.2 lbs. but the info on the Epi site doesn't mention chambering. It's no wonder the guitar sustains so well when put through my Blues Jr. or Marshall-next amp for trial my '69 Bassman with the '68 2-15 cab.BTW will post pix when my buddy drops by for a cuppa.

Hey Guitslinger, you can always hook it up so she can wear the headphones to watch T.V. with. Then Everybody's happy 8)

Wow!Thanks Nik,it's amazing that she'd weigh 8.2 lbs.with all that wood cut out, hate to think what she'd weigh without the chambering but at least that helps account for the loudness.

If he can pull that off, I can get him a job where I work in Sales.

Hi guitslinger: rats, that's a pain. Hey, if only you had some Strats, or a Tele, or a Jaguar, or a Mustang - or almost any other guitar you could play through your headphones instead, huh?

Life's tough.

BTW: while Gibson LP Standards are now chambered (if memory serves) I have a feeling that amongst Epiphones they are not chambered unless it specifically says so. For example, the Epi LP Ultra is chambered, I believe the others not:

Is yours an Ultra, guitslinger?

Cheers - C

Hi Ceri,I could play another one of my babies but you know how getting a new toy makes you feel-you don't want to put it down.

my main "rig" is my tascam trainer. i can easily stay glued to it for hours on a day off. i annoy my wife too much as it is. she often asks me what i was playing so i know she can hear it even though i've got headphones on. she never complains. i have no idea why she tolerates my crap.
