But a truck is a truck, 4x4 with TC and a limited slip it is still a truck, with a 70/30 weight differential, one solid rear axle etc.
Never will my Ford Ranger 4x4 match my A4 Quattro, because of the design restrictions of a truck it reaches it's limits abruptly, it is/was never designed to be an ultimate road handler regardless of dry,wet or ice and snow.

When at the limit on an icy/snowy road, stepping on the gas with my Ranger will just accelerate in the direction inertia is pushing.
With a Quattro it will pull me around the curve all the while regaining traction.
The Quattro system enabled Audi to win many Road Racing championships until it was banned under the reason that it was an unfair advantage.
Just the last 5 years of results in the 24hours of Le Man says plenty.

Iv'e had FWD Saab's, Volvo's and there isn't a better system out there than the Quattro.
I know someone will say "Well.. A Subaru is just as capable !!!"
I say not even close, in winter German engineering eclipses japanese design. :)

Location: So far out there, it's unbelievable!
I drive a Honda Pilot. It has amazing traction and stability systems as well as one of the most advanced braking systems available. I also have good snow tires. So, as I was sitting at a stoplight a few weeks ago, a woman in a Jeep Cherokee plowed into my rear end, (it had snowed, you see). She said, "I don't know why it didn't stop. I put my brakes on."

Ice is ice and sometimes it just doesn't matter how safe your vehicle is.

Take it easy out there.
