The fernandez sustainiac, if you don't mind losing your neck pickup.

I personally don't like compressors myself. If I feel like I'm having a sustain problem, I can usually get enough of a kick out of a Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster set to 0 and all the way down to 6db on the boost knob.

Not really a sustain pedal, per se, it's really a volume/gain boost...but it adds a bit of sustain without any compression. It also seems to add a bit of "presence" to your tone...

...check it out.

If you're having a sustain problem, you might want to check you pickup height. If you're too close the pull may shorten your sustain.

I have a Boss CS-3 which I used to use. I just ran out of room on my pedalboard, it's not that I didn't like it. I found it super useful for country/funk types of things where there's a lot of muted or hybrid picking involved. Thing is, I don't play funk very often and I never play country. Sustain isn't really something that I feel like I really need to have. I needed a volume pedal worse, something on the pedalboard had to go. But the CS-3 does a good job, so I'd definitely recommend that you look into it. :)

In my opinion, sometimes pedals aren't always the answer to your problems. There have been occasions where I've found certain distortion pedals to die out only at certain frequencies. I'm still going through the process of checking out the effects of Trem Blocks, the wood types of bodies, saddles, pickups, mixtures of different types of all combined.

Is there really something to why people think LPs sustain for days? I've got to say that mine does. You'll be told it's because of the big, thick, heavy plank of wood as much as the construction of it all along with the pickups. But then I have a strat style Basswood body that weighs about 4 lbs, typical cheap starter bridge and trem block, decent single coils, and sustains easily as much.

Sometimes I can plug in a different guitar, and just find very little sustain with the same setup amp and pedal-wise, and it causes me to look more towards the guitar as a source, and I try to find out what it is about the actual guitar that makes that happen. I do have a couple that do appear to be where the wood just doesn't allow it, and a compressor pedal just adds a synthetic sustain sound which I don't like personally.

In those cases I'll look more towards putting humbuckers in them. They seem to get more sustain out of weaker resonant guitar bodies/bridge makeups. I try to stray away from pedals as an answer at all costs first. But if it just ain't happening, I personally would rather use a booster than a compressor. But that's just my personal preference.

Good luck. Hope you find your answer. 8)
