of course, some ramones tracks are pop punk too. like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj29sqvKb6U (i cant stand the intro)

but green day, i dunno what it is about them, but they're stuff after there first 2 albums just frusterate me. same as the offspring, blink 182, sum 41 etc.

offspring and green day are the only "second wave" bands i like ANY of their stuff..... sum 41 blink, etc, are just s**t awful....

ps i think i just may be the only punk fan on the planet who doesnt like the ramones......

thats understandable, you just have explore more of the ramones songs. i reckon you'll like thi one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzvqoqkgpPg

indeed i do.... touché
and since were (sort of) on the topic of "what's punk?", what the bloody hell would one call this (aside from awesome): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW8UUKqQ ... re=related

Great Album, I saw them Live quite often in the '80's and early '90's at Toads Place in New Haven Connecticut. Same Show every time, But Always worth the price of admission. 8)

After watching BBC1 last night, I'd have to argue that Ray Davis predated him with 'All day and all of the night'.

I like the My War stuff, thats when they really slowed it down and it became more punk and less "hardcore"

Woody Guthrie anyone, both Ray and Bobs hero, This Land is Your Land, actually the first recorded punk rocker would be WC Handy, the Father of Blues
