went by GC to look at potential b.day presents for myself.
its less than a month away and i always treat myself ya know.
i looked at a couple les pauls, a SG, a egnator rebel20, egnator renegade,
a couple JCM's, 2 ibanez's from the 80's, pedal and God knows what else.
i honestly dont need any of that junk. then i saw it, the mesa transatlantic.
finally mesa joins in on the micro head movement. sleek looking, functions, switches, knobs, 2 channel, very portable.
i need this i told myself.
does anybody on here own this amp or at least played through one?

i played on one for a while, awsome amp, has good response and beeing a swichable amp you can set it to 5 watts and turn it up till it starts to clip with out blowing the place to pieces... was looking at buying one but it was way over priced in my country... it sounds pretty sweet running through a marshall cab... also it is fix biasd... no messing around when changing tubes... all in all, a good lunch box amp...

Ive actually been avoiding playing through one, as I am a HUGE fan of the lunch box amps, and know if I played through it, id want one - they are a bit pricey, but im sure its worth it - I have the VOX night train w/cab, and the ORANGE tiny terror, and a blackheart - I really dig these small amps - I think they are gonna be something cool to hang on to years down the road!

If one bought a lunchbox amp like the Transatlantic would a 1X12 cabinet be a good fit???? What cabinets might be recommended???

I've read several reviews in guitar oriented mags and they all speak in glowing terms about the different tonal possibilities of the Transatlantic and its ability to deliver both American and British amp tones-hence the name I suppose.

honestly im still leaning towards a egnator rebel 20.
i just wasnt very excited about the transatlantic. im a boogie fan
through n through ok. it just seemed to be lacking something..........boogie
to me. tone wise i believe the 20 has the trans by the balz to be honest.
i would have to hear one with my OCD hook to it or a radail texas bones
pedal (on my list by the way).
