Musikraft is the way to go for replacement bodies and necks. Best quality I have found amongst the big names.

If you don't want the Might Mite necks, avoid Stew Mac they sell the MM and charge about 40% more than Musician's friend. Also they have quilted top bodies in 2 colors but they are routed for SSS and HSH. But the bodies have 2 or 3 pieces and are heavy ash. And the finish is superb.

Way cool jr... I'm in about the same mode with 3 projects.

(1) a Precision Bass, started life as a Squier, was painted day-glo orange "GAG" by previous owner, bought for $10, both neck and body are stripped and in the process of being sanded prior to primer coat.
I have not decided on the final color yet, cannot be natural finish as the top is a laminate and instantly visible at the forearm contour. will be accessorized with High end P.Bass hardware (thru body stringing.)

(2) and (3) are interchange...able..

(2) Acquired Standard body SSS with vintage trem bridge, tortoise pickguard, 2 single coil pups and jack. $125.
Body sanded down awaiting final sanding prior to primer undercoat than black and top coats of clear.
Solved the neck quandary by purchasing a Squier Bullet ($99) mounting holes line up exactly. Pups are left overs from my MIM Deluxe Player which got SCN's.
Tuners are Grover mini locking, I will refinish the neck, level and dress the frets and may possibly replace the plastic dots with abalone dots. Neck is rosewood fretboard.

(3) Body (in white) from Bullet to be mated to a J.B. Player rosewood 22 fret neck, holes don't line up, had to plug and redrill. One HB pup to be joined with the two singles from (2) project. All hardware will be black, pickguard in BWB laminate with white pup covers and white V.T.T. controls.
tuners will be Gotoh mini delta's 18-1 ratio

Have you looked at these websites for parts as well as bodies ?

Two other purchases were a Ryobi drill press $120 and a Ryobi bandsaw also $120.
I know some people will criticize the Ryobi's but since I will never use them for my residential renovations/remodeling business ( I cannot justify lugging my jobsite fullsize tools down to the basement every day) they are more than adequate for building guitars. Even the Ryobi scrollsaw is tempting.
